I’m Katie, and I help families and professionals understand what openness really looks like in foster care and adoption. Through workshops, my online platforms, consultations, and my first children’s book The Love Tree, I support parents & caregivers in building and nurturing openness with empathy, clarity, and heart.
How Can I Help You?
I offer a range of services designed to support foster, adoptive, & kinship families, as well as the organizations and agencies that support them, including:
-
Foster care and adoption consultations
-
Workshops
-
Speaking engagements
-
One‑on‑one consultations for agencies and organizations
-
Children’s book author
-
Need something different?

-
Ensure kids have access to books that reflect a variety of family dynamics (my book, The Love Tree, is a must have for any foster/adoptive family!)
-
Choose dolls, toys, art supplies, and shows that reflect many identities, skin tones, and lived experiences, and use them to help kids act out and explore their own stories through play. When children have access to toys that mirror different family structures and living arrangements, they can make sense of their unique journey in a way that feels natural, safe, and developmentally right.
-
Let children know they can bring you their thoughts, feelings, and questions without worrying about being judged or hurting your feelings. If talking with your child about foster care or adoption‑related relationships feels overwhelming, I can help you understand the “why” and the “how” behind these complex, deeply important connections.
